One thing we all should remember, is that although flowers grow in the sunshine, when they are in our home the humidity is different, and they are not receiving all the natural moisture and ingredients that they would normally get.
Leaving fresh flowers in water on the window sill in hot weather will not help them live a long time- they can dry out and become wilted very quickly. If you have to keep them where the light is strong and hot, make sure they have plenty of food, and close the blinds or curtains for a few hours each day.
